STRAAT Museum – Amsterdam
Pixação: Resistance and Rebellion
June 27 – August 31, 2025

Eneri participated in Pixação: Resistance and Rebellion, a group exhibition at STRAAT Museum in Amsterdam, alongside LIXOMANIA!zé and Cripta Djan. Bringing together artists from different generations, the exhibition focused on Brazilian pixação and its relationships to language, urban space, conflict, and visual culture.

Within this context, Eneri presented a body of work centered on writing as image, mark, and symbolic dispute. Drawing from a visual language shaped by pixação, her practice expands this vocabulary across different media and contexts, engaging questions of presence, gender, memory, and power. In her work, the city appears not simply as a surface, but as a site of tension, projection, and confrontation.

The exhibition also created space to connect this dimension of her practice with other strands of her research, particularly works in which words historically used to diminish women are reconfigured as visual and political material. By moving between writing, gesture, and image, Eneri has developed a distinct vocabulary that preserves the critical force of its origin while continually shifting form.

As part of the public program, Eneri also took part in a conversation with Again and João Correia, extending the exhibition’s reflections into broader discussions on language, institutional circulation, and disputes over narrative.
